{"id":1249,"date":"2026-02-10T08:58:06","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T08:58:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stage.lemonworx.com\/?p=1249"},"modified":"2026-06-04T08:43:28","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T08:43:28","slug":"teleoperation-milestone-driving-a-car-through-a-simulator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stage.lemonworx.com\/?p=1249","title":{"rendered":"Teleoperation Milestone \u2013 Driving a Car through a Simulator"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In October 2025, Lemonworx, together with German partner IventIM, successfully delivered Malta\u2019s first live teleoperation demonstration \u2013 remotely driving a vehicle in Malta and from Germany, in real-time.<\/p>\n<p>The car, a BMW i3 testbed vehicle, remained physically stationed in Malta throughout; it was operated from two locations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A simulator in Malta, located just meters away, is demonstrating local remote control<\/li>\n<li>A second simulator in Germany, streaming live commands and telemetry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This cross-border proof-of-concept demonstrated how advanced embedded systems, real-time data engineering, and edge intelligence can enable low-latency, safety-critical remote vehicle control without reliance on autonomous driving.<\/p>\n<p>The event brought together representatives from the University of Malta, MCAST, Xjenza Malta, Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA), Tech.MT, The Malta Chamber, and the Chamber of Engineers.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted in Malta, the demonstration was a powerful showcase of local innovation capacity, international collaboration, and the potential of remote mobility platforms.<br \/>\nLemonworx led the development of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remote control interfaces and test data streaming infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>On-board edge modules for feedback and safety supervision<\/li>\n<li>System reliability, hand-off logic, and OTA monitoring<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThis is more than a technical showcase \u2013 it\u2019s a step toward real-world teleoperated logistics, safety, and smart mobility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Backed by engineering depth and system integration expertise, the project proved that teleoperation is not just possible, but it\u2019s operationally viable.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re now exploring follow-on applications in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Logistics yards and warehouses<\/li>\n<li>Autonomous parking and remote valet<\/li>\n<li>Teleoperation-ready fleet infrastructure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This milestone project reflects our core ethos: <strong>Crafting Tomorrow\u2019s Technology Today<\/strong> \u2013 one system at a time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In October 2025, Lemonworx, together with German partner IventIM, successfully delivered Malta\u2019s first live teleoperation demonstration \u2013 remotely driving a vehicle in Malta and from Germany, in real-time.
